See my earlier post and replies:
[arch-general] Update to Linux 4.10.1-1 Broke Bind9 /etc/named.conf never
reached on startup
The latest set of updates (including glibc) broke bind9 dns name resolution.
So your computer cannot find the repositories. The easiest way to get updates
with your current setup is to look at the first entry in your
/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist. Get the server host.domain.tld and go to a working
computer and type 'ping host.domain.tld' and get the IP address. Then in your
/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist, replace host.domain.tld with the actual IP address.
Or you could just downgrade glibc to 2.24... or use LTS until the bug is fixed.
