Hi,

what needs to be done to build local .pkg.tar.zst packages?

If I build local packages, they are still .pkg.tar.xz.
Regarding "meld /etc/makepkg.conf{,.pacnew}" the makepkg.conf on my
machine isn't obsolete.

Do we manually change the "EXTENSION DEFAULTS" and/or something else?

Kernels build in December 2019 are .pkg.tar.xz, while pacman >= 5.2 and
libarchive >= 3.3.3-1 were already installed.

[rocketmouse at archlinux ~]$ grep -e pacman\ \( -e libarchive /var/log/pacman.log | grep upgrade | tail -5
