[arch-general] cups hangs while adding a new printer

Hi,

on a Thinkpad X270 I'm trying to add a Epson XP 245 using 
epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2. Unfortunately cups just hangs with "Unable 
to get list of printer drivers", "lpinfo -m" just hangs and after some 
time outputs "Success".

Searching around showed people already had this issue with foomatic, but 
neither foomatic nor gutenprint are installed. So the explanation of 
"generating the ppd list takes too long" should not fit here.

And for adding more confusion, on another system where even gutenprint 
is installed, it works fine - so it's not a general issue.

Any ideas?
