Been running a tier 2 mirror for a little while now (nearly a year). It's hosted on Linode, and based on what I have running up there, I currently have a 6TB monthly transfer pool, of which I use less than 15% most months. I'm wondering how much does the load and bandwidth required go up if I were to ask to get my server promoted to tier 1 status? Are there any other rules or expectations of being a tier 1 mirror that aren't there for tier 2 besides those listed in the mirror wiki article? I love Arch, and want to help, and right now, this seems a reasonable option. Thanks for any insight. I'd expect traffic patterns to change rather slowly since we do not directly control them (each user and mirror admin decides for themselves which mirror to use). That said, I believe your mirror is in the United States and we already have a sufficient number of powerful mirrors there. Adding another tier 1 mirror would not be very useful to us. Thank you for the offer though. Florian -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
