Message-ID: <20070623072835.GA5294@iron.mattcox.ca> Hello, There seems to a problem on the archppc mirrors. pacman -Syu has been trying to pull two nonexistent packages, and this of course causes pacman to abort. The problem packages are: transset-20050711-3 xpdf-3.01_pl2-8 Both of which do not exist on the mirrors (www.archlinuxppc.org). Think that we need to run gensync. The setup script worked right up until it was time to start the bootloader. The script choked on the attempt to install the bootloader. Judging by the VC5 output, the problem was that mkofboot was asking for y/N confirmation on formatting the bootstrap partition, and the script wasn't delivering. Quickinst worked like a charm, as always. Summary: Setup FTP... failed on installing bootloader (mkofboot/yaboot.) QuickInst FTP... worked for me. Hmm, would have been helpful all around if the pacman devs had bumped the version to indicate a bugfix. I'm not asking for 3.0.6, but would 3.0.5.1 have been too much trouble? ;) Matt From gt at fallendusk.org Fri Jun 29 02:18:50 2007 From: gt at fallendusk.org (Greg Helton) Date: Fri, 29 Jun 2007 02:18:50 -0400 Subject: [arch-ports] [ppc] mol needs to be rebuilt for 2.6.21 Message-ID: <4684A44A.40606@fallendusk.org> MOL (mac-on-linux) needs to be rebuilt for 2.6.21. Your best bet would be to support the folks over at Gnash, who are trying to make a pure, 100% GPL flash player. http://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/ It's come pretty far along already. That being said, isn't it nice not being bombarded by annoying flash crap on your ppc linux box?
