I the layout is a little different though, as the "default" path
/usr/lib/pd-externals is not a default search path for pd (was this
added because of Debian?).
However, /usr/lib/pd/extra is!
Please test! It seemed to work when I tried it :)

I'll have to wait with purr-data though, until the dust settles a bit :D

However, I might have a look at how pd-gem is built and if that actually
now makes sense or not.
