I'm fine with python, but django? Why not consider a more plug-able approach
like flask+sqlalchemy? The arch security tracker runs the stack and AFAIK we are
happy with it.

You get the same flexbility with `flask-sqlalchemy` (any ORM essentially) and
any given REST framework.
