It's unnecessary, but it's just a comment. It's not really valid or invalid.

I find doing this to be kind of ugly so I tend to use multiple commands.
It's definitely handy for using the shell interactively though.

Yeah. The replaces array is meant for when a package is
renamed. Like gaim being renamed to pidgin.
