[aur-general] .AURINFO source field is not actually used?

I'm using a .AURINFO file for
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/stormlib/ as the pkgname is doing
some unusual shell expansion to lowercase $_pkgname (I couldn't upload
it otherwise), but i see the source field is not actually used,
despite being present in the file.

        source = http://www.zezula.net/download/stormlib-9.00.zip

I thought they were in use now. Did I misunderstand?
