Simply recommend to use a helper, e.g.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/yaourt/
once yaourt is installed, the newbie could run
yaourt -S foo
However, the newbie should be aware that an upgraded library might require
to rebuild software from AUR against the new library version.
FWIW yaourt sometimes could fail when building in tmpfs.
