I don't know if anything is speaking against doing this. I suspect
there's nothing wrong with doing it this way, but I might be mistaken.

It at least is possible to do it:

$ pacman -Qi pulseaudio-bluetooth | head -3
Name            : pulseaudio-bluetooth
Version         : 2017.12.19-1
Description     : Dummy package
$ sudo pacman -U pulseaudio-bluetooth-2017.12.19-1.01-any.pkg.tar.xz 
[snip]
