So. What you actually want to do is merge the package base triangle into
the new package base archimedes-tools, right? If you filed a request for
the triangle-old package and selected triangle as merge target, you
probably saw

    Cannot merge a package base with itself.

which is correct because merge and delete operate on package bases, not
packages. Could you please try again and file a request to merge the
package base triangle into archimedes-tools using the web interface (in
case that is what you really wanted)?
