There were a number of issues raised with this package and the maintainer has chosen not to address them. While relatively minor they are quite numerous for such a simple package.

Unfortunately this package, and discord-canary from which it was copied, include freetype2-infinality as an optional dependency to satisfy missing emoji in the application. This is not only incorrect it could easily lead the application's young and often naive user base to build and install something that will compromise the stability of their system.

It appears the current maintainer has neither the time or respect for Arch Linux's packaging standards to bring this up to snuff. As active users have already volunteered not only criticism but corrections perhaps this should be yielded to someone with the time and experience to maintain it properly.
