It's not FUD. There have been many issues with 3rd party freetype2 packages;
most recently with harfbuzz needing a symbol only available in 2.7.1 with 3rd
party packages lagging behind. With harfbuzz broken, many, many things crash,
including gdk-pixbuf2, gnome, and KDE.
