Request #10642 has been rejected by Eschwartz [1]:

Do you even comprehend what a git package is? This is not out of date,
and your reasoning is objectively wrong -- can-utils is *not* the same
package as can-utils-git.

You adopted this package that had no problems with it, did nothing
with the package since adopting it, and want to delete it because you
separately uploaded a non-git package?

Moreover, your new package has a number of problems.

How about you actually *fix* things, by updating this package to take
advantage of `git describe` now that upstream tagged their first ever
release four days ago.
