Thanks for the response. I am not sure that I understand your statement, though: who is “we” and what do you mean by “operate”? Do you mean that AUR packages are never merged into lib* packages?

Request #11375 has been rejected by Foxboron [1]: 

We don't really operate with lib* package names. So if anything the 
libaom-git package should be deleted when they are identical.
