Request #18082 has been rejected by diabonas [1]:

hunter-git is a VCS package that tracks the latest commit on the
master branch, hunter is a stable package that tracks the latest
release version. Since upstream development is active, I see value in
keeping this package, which was also requested in the package
comments.
