Request #17362 has been rejected by diabonas [1]:

This is a VCS package that tracks the latest developments on the
master branch, since the project is under active development it is
complemental to the python-cartopy package which only packages stable
releases.

To update the very outdated PKGBUILD to conform with the current VCS
package guidelines, please file an orphan request instead.
