Indeed. From the project README:

This driver went upstream. If you are about to clone and build this
repo, better clone the official libfprint repo instead. If your
package manager ships libfprint >= 0.8.3, it's already there. Yay!

For help with this driver consider opening a ticket in the official
repo or asking on the mailing list. I will keep this fork as a landing
page for a while.
