Request #24047 has been accepted by ainola [1]:

This will be merged but not because it's called something in a
different distribution (we do not change things in Arch just because a
downstream consumer does it). Instead, this is to be merged because as
per the packaging guidelines it should indeed not have the python-
prefix.
