Request #28444 has been rejected by Muflone [1]:

this is not how you collaborate with a maintainer. the package was
flagged out of date 3 days ago, not a mail to the maintainer, not a
comment, not the right way for anything but to collect all the
android-x86-system-image packages

as the maintainer is willing to give you maintainership, ask him to
add you as co-maintainer
