Closing this request as maintainer @linkmauve has
explained that package is useful for providing compatibility with
Wayland/OpenGL/GLES.

@linkmauve please kindly remove the word "dummy"
from the package description as that implies that
it does not provide a working piece of software
whereas your explanation indicates that it indeed
does. :)
