Given the issues that urgently need fixing it might make more sense to
point this package at your fork (and add that to the description so
people are made aware!) than to patch the AUR package which would
basically make it an impromptu fork anyway. Hopefully the original
maintainer's absence form here and GitHub is nothing serious.
