MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for lib32-libprotobuf [2]:

I suggest it's safe to delete this orphaned 32-bit library.
Unmaintained for almost 4 years. There are some issues with its build
as well, it directly downloads gmock-1.7.0 library (last released and
discontinued in 2014). It also builds insecure library files by
explicitly disabling relro.

Safe to delete, nothing in AUR depends on it.

For the off-chance somebody might want some 32-bit tool to use
libprotopbuf, there is a git package for the same in AUR, one which
builds a working and up-to-date version:
