pacman does not support metalink.
the only way is to use a custom XferCommand or a pacman wrapper like powerpill :

And for ISO, as far as I can see, there is no official support either.
No metalink here : http://www.archlinux.org/download/
And the only metalink files on ftp are for the archboot iso which are
not official.
But Xyne provides metalink for iso too : http://xyne.archlinux.ca/arch
