Whether this option is enabled or not by a distribution (including Arch)
is not an issue to be discussed here.  What worries me about this is
that this is a sign of a bug in the implementation (particularly the
lack of a .gnu_debugdata section).

I'm going to need this case investigate before this gets pulled into
makepkg.
