AFAIK email doesn't support HTML formatting, but correct me if I'm
wrong. Could be that when the email is typed up (using mailman, I
assume? I don't know a lot about mailing lists) it's done in some
other environment.
Anyway, probably not a good idea to be sending these to arch-announce,
I'm sure that's annoying as well. :P

Nope. I'm fairly certain I get them every time the newsletter comes out.
Or wait - do you mean directly /in/ the newsletter (not this email)? If so, then it looks fine to me.
