[arch-dev-public] [signoff] netcfg2 to [core]
Anyone got any problems with releasing netcfg2 from testing? The results of the testing thus far are here, and there's many people who've got it working on the forums. I've only had some minor changes in the last release, some of which were my own error committing an older source to the git repository originally: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Network_Scripts#Results http://projects.archlinux.org/git/?p=netcfg.git;a=summary I'm not too concerned about the remaining hardware, they're generally less common -- not that they're not important -- but they should work already, and probably don't work with the existing netcfg anyway. Thomas: That patch for initscripts I sent last time should still work, it's re-attached. James

Should we not run it in testing first, as a full replacement for the existing netcfg? The current install is side-by-side, which is not how it will ultimately be used. T.

maybe a good idea, though the change is pretty simple, just removing netcfg from initscripts. The only change on the netcfg2 side will be a symlink from netcfg2 -> netcfg so both commands work.

Can we get all the initscripts patches in there when we do do this update? I have a few pending that I sent you (Aaron) earlier and are in my gitweb initscripts repo. -Dan

Yeah, sounds good - I haven't heard anything from Thomas about any of those, either, so I'm assuming assent There's bug reports and things too - want to collect all that crap tonight and push it all to gerolde?
