[arch-dev-public] [signoff] mysql, mysql-clients and libmysqlclient
Hi, I have just updated mysql to 5.1.33 and it has been working great here - thanks for everyone that helped in the process. I want to move the asap to extra. Any cons here ? Thanks a lot =)

mysql-python needs a rebuild or something, as the so version got bumped in the client libraries and it no longer works. It would probably be good to make the dependency on libmysqlclient a versioned one. You probably also want to let the owners of mysql-ruby, luasql-mysql, etc. know that you are going to move it to [extra] very soon. -Dan

Are you sure about that? I think I already rebuild it against mysql 5.1. See mysql-python 1.2.3b2-1 -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de

Oh damn, my bad. I hadn't seen this until just now, as it came long after mysql went into [testing]. Anyway, once I upgrade to this, I can start up the Arch site locally hitting mysql, so things seem decent here for all of the involved packages (mysql, libmysqlclient, mysql-python). Of course this is no production database system. -Dan

Hi Dan, I already rebuilt mysql-python to work against the new mysql (it is in testing too).

Good one, thanks =)
