When this is merged, I'd like to deploy it as soon as possible on our production env. After this merge I want to focus on Python 3 / Django 2.0 although this is not a LTS release. (Python 3 alone should be enough work tbh).

I have tested most of these changes on a local machine with a copy of the DB and everything seems to be working.
I can probably finish testing everything this week still, but I think we should have a meeting before upgrading. Let's see what Angel take on this is.
