The vala package is several versions out of date and some packages now depend on the .9 branch like shotwell. Here's an updated PKGBUILD: http://dpaste.com/234866/ Jackson
for the 999999 time, vala 0.9.x is the devel branch and i'm not going to update it.
shotwell was updated to 0.7 and vala 0.9.5 is a _makedepends_ not a depends for this app
My apologies, my googling didn't turn up this prior discussion and the phrasing on the vala homepage (http://live.gnome.org/Vala/Release) lables the 0.9.x version as "releases" not a development branch. Jackson
hehe, i was one of those 999999 too. and there seems to be a "secret" versioning schema that "all" gnome projects follow: odd numbers are unstable and even are stable. but yeah, i never found this definition on the gnome site neither...
Section 3.1 of the link below mentions it. http://developer.gnome.org/gep/gep-4.html Not the most visible location for it, but given that its organization wide, it doesn't make sense to be mentioned for each individual project either. d
