Hmm, that's strange. The 'prepare' function from the PKGBUILD doesn't seem to be executed. When I build the package with 'makepkg', the prepare function is run and outputs the following:

Why does pacaur do this? Pacaur is essentially dead and should be replaced by something like aurutils or trizen, if one really needs that. Otherwise, always assume

Apart from the broken feature to dispaly AUR comments, the only issue with yaourt is tmpfs. Note, I'm using the plain makepkg approach as well as yaourt, but no other AUR tool. To workaround the tmpfs issue, you simply could add an alias, such as mine: alias naourt='echo "Not AnOther User Repository Tool";rm -rf /{.,}tmp/yaourt-tmp-$(id -un);yaourt --tmp /.tmp' However, I didn't try to build another/this DX7 clone, since my master keyboard is the first generation DX7 (brown metal case), I bought when I was a teenager, decades ago and nothing compares to it's output recorded with a RME card. I seriously doubt that an error such as "make: *** No rule to make target" is caused by using yaourt. Much likely it's either a broken PKGBUILD or an partial upgraded Arch Linux.

Now a second issue comes to my mind, when using yaourt. If a user does use yaourt to upgrade packages from AUR, an inexperienced user could miss to build a package and it's dependencies in the required order.

Yes, I forgot about the split packages. An inexperienced user unfortunately would build a split package two times instead of one time. Not really an issue. I guess a real issue when yaourt is used by an inexperienced user, is the lexical order updated packages are build. If package "a" depends on package "b", we need to build "b" before we build "a", but yaourt would build "a" at first.

I have uploaded a new release for both packages, because I discovered after releasing the previous ones, that the VST plug-in was broken on Linux in Dexed 0.9.4. This breakage was introduced with the addition of the stand-alone program, so the previous version 0.9.3 was stil working fine (but has no stand-alone program). I fixed this by having the PKGBUILD build the stand-alone version only first, then disable ALSA and JACK support and build the VST plug-in. This is a workaround until the underlying problem in JUCE is fixed. With this change it should also be possible to compile the packages with pacaur. Chris
