I'm trying to learn java... but the install on freebsd is kinda tedious for a lazy person like me :/

This has been the case for a few years, but the bad rep Java got early on is following it around like a stray dog. "The proof is in the pudding" doesn't seem to apply in these cases. Its kind of sad, but I don't care. I like the fact that very few people use Java for desktop apps, it makes me feel like I'm elite.
