Out of curiosity: do you guys also have this kind of approach, or do you actually take the time to review the package selection dialog? why? which packages do you usually choose right away?

I don't review the list of selected packages. The only thing I select in addition to the base group is sudo, but that really isn't necessary, just one less pacman -S for later. I would be fine if the installer just did pacman -S base.
