This bypassed the same-origin policy protections by using a flaw in the processing of SVG format content navigation. When calling mobility_opt_print() with a negative "len", the "i < len" check would not be satisfied and it would not enter the loop and try to read from bp[i]. - CVE-2015-2153 (arbitrary code execution) TCP printer problem with missing length check in the rpki_rtr_pdu_print() function in print-rpki-rtr.c when processing RPKI-RTR PDUs (Protocol Data Units) with an incorrect header length. Without this check, the function will try to operate on invalid data when processing certain packets, leading to all kinds of unwanted side effects, including crashes due to invalid reads, writes and general memory corruption. Due to the memory corruption aspect it may lead to code execution. - CVE-2015-2154 (out-of-bounds memory read) Ethernet printer osi_print_cksum() missing sanity checks in print-isoclns.c. The function may call the create_osi_cksum() function in checksum.c with invalid data leading to out-of-bounds memory read. - CVE-2015-2155 (arbitrary code execution) A flaw was found in tcpdump's force printer. A remote attacker could use this flaw to cause tcpdump to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code. An example of such an error could be that a DTLS1.0 only client is attempting to connect to a DTLS1.2 only server. - CVE-2015-0208 (denial of service) The signature verification routines will crash with a NULL pointer dereference if presented with an ASN.1 signature using the RSA PSS algorithm and invalid parameters. Since these routines are used to verify certificate signature algorithms this can be used to crash any certificate verification operation and exploited in a DoS attack. Any application which performs certificate verification is vulnerable including OpenSSL clients and servers which enable client authentication. - CVE-2015-0209 (denial of service) A malformed EC private key file consumed via the d2i_ECPrivateKey function could cause a use after free condition. The conditions are: - The client is on a platform where the PRNG has not been seeded automatically, and the user has not seeded manually - A protocol specific client method version has been used (i.e. not SSL_client_methodv23) - A ciphersuite is used that does not require additional random data from the PRNG beyond the initial ClientHello client random (e.g. PSK-RC4-SHA). This feature only applies on 64 bit x86 architecture platforms that support AES NI instructions. A defect in the implementation of "multiblock" can cause OpenSSL's internal write buffer to become incorrectly set to NULL when using non-blocking IO. Typically, when the user application is using a socket BIO for writing, this will only result in a failed connection. However if some other BIO is used then it is likely that a segmentation fault will be triggered, thus enabling a potential DoS attack. - CVE-2015-0291 (denial of service) If a client connects to an OpenSSL 1.0.2 server and renegotiates via ClientHello with an invalid signature algorithms extension a NULL pointer dereference will occur. Description =========== As libXfont is used by the X server to read font files, and an unprivileged user with access to the X server can tell the X server to read a given font file from a path of their choosing, these vulnerabilities have the potential to allow unprivileged users to run code with the privileges of the X server (often root access). - CVE-2015-1802 (out-of-bounds memory write) The bdf parser reads a count for the number of properties defined in a font from the font file, and allocates arrays with entries for each property based on that count. It never checked to see if that count was negative, or large enough to overflow when multiplied by the size of the structures being allocated, and could thus allocate the wrong buffer size, leading to out of bounds writes. - CVE-2015-1803 (denial of service) If the bdf parser failed to parse the data for the bitmap for any character, it would proceed with an invalid pointer to the bitmap data and later crash when trying to read the bitmap from that pointer. - CVE-2015-1804 (out-of-bounds memory read) The bdf parser read metrics values as 32-bit integers, but stored them into 16-bit integers. Overflows could occur in various operations leading to out-of-bounds memory access. Impact ====== A local attacker is able to use specially crafted font files to perform denial of service or execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the X server resulting in local privilege escalation. If pam_ecryptfs is used a transparent migration from version 1 to version 2 files is provided, otherwise a manual re-wrapping of the passphrase file is mandatory. Workaround ========== None. Description =========== eCryptfs uses a default salt to encrypt the mount passphrase, which makes it easier for attackers to obtain user passwords via a brute force attack. By default, the wrapping key is hashed with the default fixed salt (0x0011223344556677). This update introduces the version 2 wrapped-passphrase file format. It adds the ability to combine a randomly generated salt with the wrapping password (typically, a user's login password) prior to performing key strengthening. The version 2 file format is considered to be a intermediate step in strengthening the wrapped-passphrase files of existing encrypted home/private users. If pam_ecryptfs is used a transparent migration from version 1 to version 2 files is provided, otherwise a manual re-wrapping of the passphrase file is mandatory. Impact ====== An attacker could use this issue to discover the login password used to protect the mount passphrase and gain unintended access to the encrypted files with the help of bulk dictionary attacks and rainbow tables to crack user passwords.
