Once you've built the new package just up update this one. Or if you plan on renaming it, let me know.
foo-git packages should track the upstream master branch. If you want to follow another branch (e.g. devel), use a different name (e.g. foo-devel-git). There is no apparent reason to merge/delete the current package.
