yum13241 [1] filed a deletion request for pineconemc-launcher-bin [2]: To whom it may concern, I would like to first preface this with an apology for request "spam". The previous request was rejected for a lack of detail. I maintain two packages, "elyprismlauncher" and "elyprismlauncher-bin" (my packages). This package (the offending package), "pineconemc- launcher-bin", duplicates the second package. Now, the reason for the different naming is because upstream is undergoing a rename from "ElyPrismLauncher" to "PineconeMC". My packages were created before the rename, and the rename is still in progress, which is why I have not undergone standard AUR procedure for upstream renames yet. This package, besides being a duplicate, still does not name itself correctly (upstream does not call itself "PineconeMC Launcher", but simply "PineconeMC"), and shows telltale signs of being AI generated (such as out-of-place references to the user and ridiculous commenting), meaning the packager may lack the skills necessary to maintain the package, and this is a legal gray area for all things free/open source as the standard AUR PKGBUILD license is (the packager may have unintentionally used code incompatible with the license as a result of AI usage). The offending package has also caused confusion upstream over which package is "official" (upstream mostly approves of my package). I hereby request that the package "pineconemc-launcher-bin" be removed for the following reasons: 1. It is a duplicate of "elyprismlauncher" and "elyprismlauncher-bin". 2. It is clearly AI generated, which is both a legally-gray issue for the AUR, and shows the maintainer lacks the skills necessary to maintain the package, which means AUR guidelines are being disregarded here. 3. It has caused confusion upstream by both failing to consult with the original package's maintainer (me) and upstream. The maintainer also does not seem to check his/her/their/its email, as I attempted to resolve this by emailing the offending package's maintainer, to no avail.
