[PRQ#47724] Deletion Request for promtail-bin
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for promtail-bin [2]: Bogus package. Description and source is not for promtail, but for loki, and it is not using a binary build as source, but the git repo main branch of loki. Original Package promtail is flagged out of date. I absolutely agree that this package is a dublicate of the original one in the extra repository. Both of you are incorrect. It is not loki, it's promtail (although from the same source repo) and it is not a duplicate of the repo package because it builds from git not a release version. The correct reason to delete this package is violation of VCS guidelines[2]: it must be named promtail-git. - éclairevoyant [2]: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VCS_package_guidelines#Package_naming
