[arch-ports] Arch64 - call for a website maintainer

Our www.arch64.org website needs a whole rewrite. It should be fit into the www.archlinux.org (32bit) and www.archlinuxppc.org outfit. More features we want too. I've asked our server admin c14n and he told me that we can use almost every program we want for the website. So Joomla, mysql and much more shouldn't be a problem. So feel free to introduce yourself if you're interested. A running Arch64 system is not an absolute must. AndyRTR

Sorry to bug ya but I'd like to see gnome-python and gnome-python-extra with it depends in the repos! I have the packages. Everything built fine using the pkgbuilds from abs. gnome-python-extra depends on -gnome-python depends on those (a few others that are already in the repo) ---gst-plugins-gconf ---totem-plparser ---totem ---gnome-media ---libgksu ---libgksuui I have the pkgs if you want me to I can upload them to my server!. -- Matthew | Website http://msg43.net | AIM: MSG431 | MSN + Gmail: MSG431(a)gmail.com

Hello, I upgrade to the latest cups version in arch64 but I get a depend issue. cupsd: error while loading shared libraries: libslp.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I can't seeem to find a package with the library. I think this depend belongs to openslp. Anyways you are unable to start/stop cups. [arch-ports] Need help remastering a new installation iso CD

I don't know who has done our first arch64 install cd. That's a pity because someone told me there's a documentation out. ut nobody has it. As we have now done a few important changes to the boot concept we need to update the install cd. If it will become easier to install arch64 I guess much more user will try to test it. So who can give my some information how to master a nice new ISO cd. A base cd for ftp install should be enough for now. I'm thinking about to start this after the irc meeting next Sunday. AndyRTR

[arch-ports] Ports community meetings

I was talking online with the arch64 guys and we all thought it would be a good idea to have a meeting about official support for ports in archlinux. There are a few things that need to happen in the development process of arch for full support to exist, but with things like pacbuild released everything is a lot closer. I would like to get everyone together who is working on porting archlinux to different architectures (x86_64, ppc, ... anyone else? c64? ;) ) to talk about what I had planned on doing, what has been done, what you all need, etc. Is everyone available for an irc meeting on Feb 19, 2006 at 10:00 am PST? [arch-ports] Main Mirror Website for PPC outage

Hey all, I've been updating the kernel last night to include some patches etc. Unfortunately mkinitrd didn't play nice, so the machine didn't come back up. The admins over at my ISP are trying to get the machine back up right now and I hope the issue will be solved until Monday, the 8th January at latest.
