This fixes a bug in the new firmware loader: Whenever a firmware file
was missing, the firmware loader did not properly report an error to the
kernel, thus modprobe stalled for 60 seconds.

Most notably, this happens with "microcode", as it looks for firmware
files that never existed and probably never will exist.
