I can not edit the wiki page, so discussing here.
How about a hook that rebuilds kernel initramfs images? Something like:
[Trigger]
Type = File
Operation = Install
Operation = Upgrade
Target = boot/vmlinuz-linux
Target = usr/lib/initcpio/*
[Action]
Description = Updating Arch Linux initramfs image
When = PostTransaction
Exec = /usr/bin/mkinitcpio -p linux
