Actually, it's just the package naming.

nvidia-utils-beta is the pkgname of the package you're trying to
install. nvidia-utils is the package already installed, which
conflicts.

Note the "beta" is not part of the version. It is part of the name.
This is NOT an upgrade of a package, but installing a totally
different package which _replaces_ one already installed
