I use 14" ThinkPad R61 (T9300 @ 2.50GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm HDD)
with Arch only and very happy with it.

Everything works fine (I haven't tested the bluetooth much, though) and
I didn't need any tricks to install anything.
