Hi David,
assuming the problem isn't in Qt or in libc the crash is triggered in
/opt/kde/lib/kde3/kcm_icons.so. To better understand what's going on
there you would have to read the source to get some understanding of
it. I guess that the gz_open() function gets NULL or some invalid
pointer instead of proper path.
