I don't think you want the "feature" of 90% CPU usage when you're
running KDE either. It sounds like a bug. Try Googling. Just googling
knotify4 gave me two Arch Linux posts and an upstream KDE bug that
collectively offered at least three workarounds to suit your fancy.
