[arch-general] I have to switch back to tty1 for systemd to shutdown the pc

Since you are not using gdm to login anyway, try disabling it from
automatically starting (systemctl disable gdm), and login using tty.

Then atleast the gdm running on the other tty will not hold the shutdown
sequence.
