The mail2forum (M2F) does two things: (1) forum (web bbs) to mail and
(2) mail to forum. I would not suggest using the "mail to forum" feature
but instead the topic link attached to message sent from the forum.

If I understand correctly from my few tests. The idea here is to post in
web bbs and reply with the help of mailing list either clicking the bbs
topic link and then reply in bbs, or reply directly to mailing list
without sending to bbs. Mailing list members can control what goes
public and held private. 

To Jason's question. M2F requires to assigned individually each forum
(not categories) wanted to send posts to a mailing list. Currently it
only sends post of users who are registered in both web bbs and mlist
only .... using same email address. Non-mailing list members' post will
not be sent. But I think this can be hacked if we add a "dummy"
registered user in mailing list.
