I'm in favor of the current proposal, but it's been brought up before,
by bfinch I believe, that it might become difficult to remove this at
a later date. He never explained why it would be difficult, but I
thought that this was a decent compromise to alleviate such concerns.
I could be way off base though on this, though. I haven't really given
the idea a lot of thought.
