In an ideal world nobody would care about vanity, glory and/or
money and all would be happy, if intellectual property would be
completely unimportant. Often the wording of a law can't fulfil the
spirit of a law. However, to distinguish between different approaches I
do understand, that an upstream developer is in favour of a renamed
fork, but OTOH seemingly "Scots have more words for snow than Inuit".
Giving each slightly modified distributed software another name, might
not necessarily help to distinguish between really important different
approaches.
