I don't like gnome dependencies either. As far as I've seen in the
tracker and in my previous build gconf would be that dependency. For
the sake of this experiment I tried to compile it without gconf
installed and it worked but mediactrl wasn't compiled then. I don't see
gstreamer bringing in any gnome dependency by itself. gconf isn't the
worst gnome dependency there is but oh well. The specific app I planned
to package doesn't compile through with mediactrl enabled either which
I reported two versions ago, so I stopped caring.
I won't open that bug again now. Serious audio apps use something else
anyway.
